Baseball 10U

Skill Focus: Advanced throwing, batting, baserunning, catching pop-flies, intermediate skill development for players interested in catching – beginner development for pitching – continued development of situational awareness such as knowing your pitch count, knowing your defensive outs, how to tag up while baserunning, where to throw the ball when on defense depending on outs and runners, etc.

Expectations: This division is offered in the Spring and Fall of each year. Each team is expected to play a minimum 10 games. Home and away games are about a 50/50 split, may need to travel to away games within approximately 20 – 30 minutes of Garner.

Game Play Rules:

  • Field of Play: Pitching Mound 46’, Bases 60’, Minimum Outfield Fence 200’
  • Batting: Standard baseball rules. 3 strikes, 4 balls. Dropped 3rd Strike.
  • Pitching: Pitcher shall not pitch in more than six (6) innings in one (1) day, nor more than six (6) innings in a week. The week will run from Monday-Sunday. Pitchers throwing the last day of the week must have the allotted rest period. Pitchers must have one (1) calendar day of rest after pitching in three (3) or more innings.

Uniform and Equipment: 
League Provided: Jersey, hat, belt and socks. 
Required: Glove, helmet, baseball pants, cleats, and protective cup.

**Metal Cleats are not allowed**

Age Qualification: Any player whose eleventh (11) birthday falls on or after May 1 of current year is eligible to compete in 10U Division play. A player must have a minimum league age of eight (8) years of age.
