Registration

The Garner Generals represent the competitive division of baseball for Garner Sports League. This offering is available for any highly motivated and competitive players in Garner, North Carolina and surrounding areas. Teams are fielded based on age group interest and team rosters are determined by tryouts. Participation on a Garner Generals team requires a high level of commitment from both the participant and their parents.  Garner Generals teams participate in tournaments sanctioned by NC GameOn, USSSA, Top Gun, and others throughout North Carolina. 

Teams are self-funded and may recruit sponsorship to offset costs such as tournament fees, equipment, the use of training facilities and/or clinics and special events.

There is no cost to tryout for a Garner Generals travel team. There is a DISCOUNT for players that make a Garner Generals team and wish to play in the Garner Sports League recreational program. Please inquire for more details and a coupon code.

Travel costs per player will vary based on the team as each team has the flexibility to determine the number and type of tournaments that the team wishes to enter, use of commercial batting cages, and extra team development opportunities with outside professional coaches.

Once a team is selected, players and parents are asked to directly fund or alternatively actively help to fundraise or to find sponsors to offset costs on a per team basis.  

Players will be required to purchase a uniform package with typically includes:

  • Uniform Package
    • 2 jerseys
    • 1 hat
    • 2 pants
    • 1 batting helmet
    • 1 bat bag
    • custom logo socks
    • COVID-19 face mask/neck gaiter
Other typical team and player fees include:
  • Tournament Fees
  • League Insurance
  • League Administration Fee (supplies, mailings, tax preparation, etc)
  • Affiliation Fee to Garner Sports League for field usage 
  • Sanctioning Fee paid to various tournament providers, like NC GameOn or TopGun
  • Batting Cage Time 
  • Hitting Clinics
  • Pitching Clinics

At the point that your player is offered a spot on the team, you will be responsible for forwarding a non-refundable deposit to be used towards the purchase of the uniform.  This will secure your player’s place on the team and allow us to move forward with ordering uniforms.
