Providing Youth Sports for Garner and Surrounding Areas

Garner Sports League was originally founded in 1988 as Garner Area Youth Sports League (GAYSL). Initially we offered only softball as we were one of the only youth fast-pitch softball leagues in the area. GAYSL later added tee-ball and baseball as our families wanted to be able to play in one organization. In the late 2000s and 2010s we were affiliated with Little League Baseball International and offered programs under the brand of Garner Little League. Then, in 2019, we rebranded as Garner Sports League (GSL). In doing so we added a competitive branch to the organization by merging with Garner Generals travel baseball. This rebranding also allowed for the flexibility to offer additional youth sports offerings to meet the needs of the Garner area community. Today we offer several programs including recreational and travel baseball, fast-pitch recreational softball, and starting in Fall 2023 we began offering flag football. Our various programs involve hundreds of kids from 3 up to 16 years old each year.

Garner Sports League is a volunteer run, 501c(3) non-profit that provides a positive environment for children to learn good sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical well-being through quality instruction and healthy competition while fostering a love of the game, whether the game is baseball, softball, or flag football, right here in Garner, North Carolina.
